Is Your Team Equipped for Success?
Gone are the days when a college degree and high academic grades were sufficient to land you that dream job. The recruitment and hiring scenario has changed. Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO affirms, “Employers are looking for the power combination of trainability, personal excellence, and right attitude. Those who are lucky enough to get hired cannot afford to just bank on that employment sheet being signed. Workers will have to step up to meet the technical requirements, and continue honing their soft skills to cope. Today, anyone who intends to be promoted or to keep the job must constantly improve his skills in communication, leadership, critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, and even cultural awareness. These are not taught in school.”
Thankfully, companies have also recognized that the requirement for employees to excel as they multi-task requires the right training and development programs.Viesca states, “There are still some companies that neglect training and even view it as an unnecessary cost. However, those who know better are sustaining their efforts.”
Certainly, it is a wise investment to be able to fill in the learning gaps, build the team’s skills and inspire employees to give their best.
